However, there is evidence to suggest that coronavirus may remain viable for hours to days on surfaces made from a variety of materials.

You may be able to use bleach or disinfectants with an EPA-registered household disinfectant on some materials. These disinfectants meet EPA’s criteria for use against COVID-19. If you feel you need to launder your clothes and households here are some tips.

 

Here are some tips from the CDC for cleaning clothing, towels & other items, including carpeted floors, rugs and drapes.

  • Wear disposable gloves.
  • Wash hands with soap and water as soon as you remove the gloves.
  • Do not shake dirty laundry.
  • Launder items according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Washing in hot water (160 degrees) for at least 25 minutes and dry items completely,
