National No Housework Day is coming up on April 7th, giving you a great excuse to avoid the household chores and just relax.
After a long day of work and battling the traffic to get home, housework can add to an already stressful day.
On an average day, 22 percent of employed men still perform household chores, spending about 2.1 hours. However, 70 percent of employed women perform about 2.6 hours housework on an average day, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Even if you’re retired, work from home or are a stay-at-home parent, keeping up with running a household can be difficult. Many people are also trying to take care of their kids or their elderly parents, and some are taking care of both.
Everyone deserves a day off and time to relax. You may be surprised how skipping chores for a day could make you feel less stressed.
