Durable and flattering swimsuit trends Posted on May 22, 2019 under Blog, Fashion. | no comments.

Summer is coming up, which means it’s time to start shopping for the perfect bathing suit. You probably already have quite a few if you live in Southwest Florida, but summer is the perfect time to checkout swimsuit trends and get a new one.

You want a swimsuit that is comfortable and looks good. If you’re going to be spending a lot of time in the water, it’s important to find a swimsuit that’s durable enough to hold up to continuous wear. Here’s what to keep in mind when shopping for swimsuits this summer.

Flattering and supportive

It’s important that you feel comfortable moving around in your swimwear. Look for a swimsuit in a cut that flatters your body. If you have a curvier figure, you’ll also want to look for suits that are structured, so they show off your figure in the best light.

Durable material

Not all swimsuit fabrics are created equal, so it’s important to find one that can handle the wear and tear you put it through. Texturized polyester is one of the most popular materials for swimsuits because it is resistant to chlorine and salt water. This is convenient because you’ll be able to wear your swimsuit virtually anywhere without damage. Polyester also resists shrinkage and won’t pill over time.

Many polyester swim fabrics are even designed to be UV resistant, so they won’t lighten in the sunshine.

Soft and breathable

If you’re going to be heading in and out of the water throughout the day, it’s important that you find a swimsuit that dries quickly. Your skin needs room to breathe, and you don’t want your swimsuit to stick to your body uncomfortably. A little bit of Lycra blended into a polyester suit will keep it soft.

No matter what swimwear you pick out, you want it to last. That means taking care of it. After each use, be sure to rinse it out and let it air dry, taking care not to stretch or pull on the fabric. Avoid putting your swimsuit in the washer and dryer. Hand washing is going to be much more effective for long term wear. You can also take it to the dry cleaner.
